Works closely with the Integration Analyst to implement interface specifications to ensure that departmental data and transactions are received and interpreted correctly by developing, supporting and enhancing interface code through the engines or modifying HL7 messages as needed. Helps to manage interface engine environment, providing system technical level support to eGate, eLink, ConnectR and the Allscripts Interface Sub System (ISS).
Administers routine operational maintenance takes for eGate to ensure proper operating efficiencies.
Collaborates with Integration Analysts to develop data integration solutions to meet the business needs and requirements of customer requests and projects. Proposing technical solutions to solve integration related issues.
Codes interface programs per defined specifications requirements and design, develop and configure all required components of the interface engine for building interfaces.
Establishes communication set up in interface engines between receiving and sending systems.
Conducts thorough unit and string tests.
Identify technical alternatives/improvements and present them to management.
Supports/troubleshoots Hospital Information Systems inbound/outbound interfaces as appropriate.
Provides technical documentation for the eGate environment which includes the message flow for each interface, multiple schema design for interfaces and performance metrics.
Assists in troubleshooting interface engine log errors as needed.
Provides technical support for integration environment and helps to manage interface components.
Performs on-call duties as required responding and resolving help desk tickets and alerts.
3+ years experience working with HL7 is required.
Experience with external system interfaces, interface testing, and interface analysis and documentation required.
2 + years experience working with Java preferred.
2 + years experience developing of HL7 interfaces in interface engine environment preferred.
1 + years experience developing interfaces with in eGate (Java) and or Rhapsody environments preferred.
Must be detail-oriented and organized, with good research, analytical and problem solving ability.
Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of change control procedures and standards are a plus.
Experience in development using XML, XSLT highly preferred.
Knowledge and experience in development of Web Services preferred.
Knowledge in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) preferred.
Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:
Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.) required.
Knowledge of MS Visio and Project are a plus.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures are a plus.
Bachelor degree required
